DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-QUALITY FOOD PROTEINS THROUGH THE SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING OF LEGUME CULTIVATION
Participation of Semillas Ramiro Arnedo and MIMIC SeaFood in the audiovisual animation
A few days ago, we visited the facilities of Semillas Ramiro Arnedo (El Ejido) and MIMIC SeaFood (Tres Cantos) to continue with the recordings of the informative audiovisual of PROTEINLEG. Semillas Ramiro Arnedo was founded 75 years ago as a seed marketing company. For 2 decades they have also been committed to R + D + i as a source of wealth, having developed and introduced new varieties of lettuce, pepper, eggplant and melon, among others, in their centers in Calahorra, Almería and Murcia. At PROTEINLEG, Semillas Ramiro Arnedo is responsible for the characterization and improvement of the legume varieties studied against biotic and abiotic stress. It also carries out the quality and sensory analysis of these new varieties.
For its part, MIMIC SeaFood is a Madrid startup that develops plantbased foods that reduce stress on the oceans. Within the framework of the project, they are responsible, in collaboration with the National Center for Food Technology (CNTA), for the development and validation of new ranges of protein-rich food products, from traditional varieties of legumes.
