DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-QUALITY FOOD PROTEINS THROUGH THE SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING OF LEGUME CULTIVATION
CNTA will mentor the PROTEINLEG Operational Group
The PROTEINLEG Operational Group has been selected for the technological mentoring program of the National Center for Food Technology (CNTA), protected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). Among the almost 30 Operational Groups approved in the 2020 call, PROTEINLEG has been one of the 4 projects selected by the CNTA as a beneficiary of its technological mentoring program. This program, which will last until the end of 2022, will allow PROTEINLEG to have the expertise and technical mentoring of the CNTA experts, who will make all their knowledge available to the project, to expand the scope of technical activities. CNTA will provide the analysis of nutritional quality, anti-nutritional factors and aminogram of different varieties of legumes and green beans. These works will help PROTEINLEG to complement the information on the raw materials used in the project, and that will serve to develop new products based on vegetable protein. In addition, CNTA will also evaluate the protein quality of a fish plant mimetic that will serve to assess its possible commercialization. You can check the full news here on the CNTA website.
